SOLUTIONS

When you look at many of our most sucessful projects you will see that we have a key set of objectives in every solution; using the latest technology, creating innovative designs and paying great attention to detail

Take technology for example, the latest innovative technology helps you gain a competitive advantage when you adopt that technology at the earliest opportunity in the product life cycle.  Designs which help you get the most secure solution from your budget will require a bit of lateral thinking at the design stage. And a
At Security Net we believe in being perfectionists, as many perfectly good solutions fail because of the little things.

INTER SITE COMMUNICATIONS

Finance directors are under increasing pressure nowadays to cut overheads, and are frankly fed up having been treated as cash cows by telecommunications companies.  People are also looking at new ways to make their operations more efficient by extending in-house applications to remote offices and rationalizing server systems.

These facts are the driving force behind the increasing use of Virtual Private Networking This key technology being used increasingly now by Companies to link remote offices in a way that was never feasible before.

Security Net has extensive experience of implementing VPN’s, from small scale links across London, to major transatlantic networks.  We have also implemented IP telephony links from the far reaches of southern Europe, to the USA.

We can help you choose the best carrier and WAN technology for your communications project, supply, install and support the best solution for your needs.

REMOTE WORKING
Increasingly new technology is helping us to do new things in ways we never imagined possible.  The mobile phone is a prime example.  Who would have thought that one day you could take a photo at a customer’s site, on your mobile phone, and email it to your office, all in 30 seconds?

The truth is you can now be at home and work just as if you were in your office.  Technology is available that transparently diverts phone calls, emails and voicemail to your desk at home.  And many studies have found that staff are more productive whilst working from home.

Security Net has implemented remote worker solutions that use the latest innovations from Companies such as Microsoft, Mitel, Cisco Systems and AEP Networks.

VOICE & VIDEO
In today’s changed world, where our safety and security is one of our biggest fears, we need to have the best technology in place to protect our interests wherever we are.  Whether it’s at the airport, watching over our kids at school, in a restaurant or at the workplace, we all feel more comfortable when we know there is a caring eye watching over us.

And we need to have more face to face meetings, only we don’t have the time to travel to meetings.  Video conferencing and video telephony solutions can bridge this gap, and enable us to experience the meeting atmosphere, only without the cost and inconvenience of travel.

As BT aims to convert the majority of its telephony customers to an Internet Protocol (IP) network by 2009 in a radical move expected to cost billions, all businesses in the UK will need to migrate their phone system to an IP based system by then.  This has already started and Cisco Systems, a Company that only recently started manufacturing IP telephone systems, now has about 50% market share in the UK.

Security Net has voice and video solutions for many applications.  We have experience in implementing innovative solutions in CCTV over IP and voice telephony over IP.  We are also working with a European partner to implement the first standalone desktop video telephony solution in the UK.

INFORMATION SECURITY

For any business its most forgotten asset is its information.  Total loss of a years accounting records for example will cause major stress to finance departments, and will typically cost £10,000 in lost time and remedial works.  Such a loss at a crucial point in a businesses lifecycle could even lead to insolvency.

In the last ten years when most businesses connected their networks to the Internet there has been a gradually increasing and constantly evolving threat to information security.  Just as you thought that you had your anti-virus solution in hand, you have experienced spyware. Having dealt with that then along came the latest worm.  What will be next we don’t know, but one surety is that there will be a “next”.

The truth is that a cleverly designed information security system can greatly reduce the exposure of a business to threats and malicious software such as worms.  For example it is not well known but many world famous web sites do not use a firewall to protect them.  Rather they use operating system hardening and undocumented techniques to eliminate the risk of intrusions.

Security Net uses such advanced techniques routinely to protect its customers’ systems.  We have a proven track record in giving our customers complete peace of mind in protecting their information systems.  We will be only to happy to introduce the latest security techniques to your business.

IDENTITY MANAGEMENT

Security Net an design and implement a secure ID solution using several leading technologies, including one-time-password keys, fingerprint scanners and card systems.

The ID management solution you choose can include external RADIUS and TACACS authentication, or integration with your Active Directory structure.

Our systems can also link to door entry systems and human resource daabases.

SECURE WIRELESS

The killer applications which are driving wireless networking are all based on mobility.  Whether it’s an account manager synchronising his CRM system data in a coffee shop, or a photographer uploading a celebrity photo to his photo web, its all about being mobile.

Such widespread demand for Wi-Fi has introduced complacency and it is common to see wireless networks even in large corporations, advertising the businesses wares to any passer by with, XP and a couple of brain cells.

So what’s the solution?  To start with, businesses serious about wireless LAN security need to start with a leading manufacturer.  Then implement a standards based wireless security system such as wireless protected access (WPA), using certificates or secondary authentication systems such as RADIUS or TACACS.

IT Managers should also be introducing MAC address access control, so that wireless access points can no longer be plugged in to the network, just because someone in the marketing department bought one in their local DIY store.

Security Net has implemented secure wireless networks using the latest secure standards such as IPSEC and WPA.
